I had an interesting thing happen when I installed CE Services
2.2 on my Win98
machine. When CE services started, it started synching, then Syncmgr.exe sent
me a pair of invalid page faults. Fault 1 was to file <unknown> (big help).
Fault 2 went to <OBDC32.DLL>. The funny thing was that after accepting the
faults, CE Services 2.2 functioned properly. The page faults annoyed me though, so I
went back to CE Services 2.1.

Glad you got your Jornada working!
Which version of Services is this? I installed Services 2.2 and have had
nothing but problems (including a complete screwed up NT system, partly my fault)ever
since with a WinCE v2 handheld and palmsize.
I've lost the ability to sync certain information, as I get the following
error:
"The Appointments synchronization service is not installed
on the mobile device and is disabled during this
connection. You must install this service on your device
and reconnect to enable the service".
It's repeated for Contacts, Messages and Tasks and I
no idea what's caused it, or how to fix it..
Sticky had this problem with both his H/PC and P/PC devices. I
recommended that he break the partnership with his devices by selecting their icons in
Mobile Devices and pressing Delete. Then, reconnect the device to his desktop and when
asked whether to establish a partnership or guest select guest. Disconnect, and
reconnect and this time establish a partnership. This worked for his H/PC but not
his P/PC.
The next recommendation for the P/PC was to follow the steps above, but before
re-establishing the partnership completely wipe the P/PC by removing all batteries for
about five minutes. After re-establishing the partnership the problem with the P/PC
was resolved.
